hybris strengthens UK Channel as it forms new partnership with Eclipse Group Solutions Limited

hybris, a provider of multichannel commerce and communication software has today announced, as part of its UK channel development programme, that it is partnering with Midlands-based Eclipse Group, a specialist in designing, developing and supporting IT systems for a broad range of customers from mid-size through to large multinationals.

The new agreement will bring together Eclipse’s well established systems integration and Java-based software development skills, together with hybris’ proven, agile B2B and B2C multichannel platforms.

Since forming in 1996, Eclipse Group has built a strong team of over 200 IT specialists across their UK and Polish offices. Eclipse has, created its own agile business applications development team, with applications now being used within companies in the logistics, manufacturing, automotive and retail sectors. This strong pedigree is important to hybris’ plans to expand into new vertical markets with experienced partners. In March, the company announced that it is now partnering with 11 of the 12 leading commerce providers named in Forrester Research’s Wave Report on Global Commerce Service Providers.

Frank Schoutissen, Vice President Channel at hybris, said: “Eclipse Group demonstrates the skill and expertise that we are looking for in our partners. The successful implementation of a commerce platform requires a broad knowledge, not just of the technology involved, but also how this technology will be used to deliver a first-class service to customers and integrate with all other systems utilised by the client. This depth of knowledge is evident in the quality of Eclipse’s customers, and the systems it has developed internally, or with partners prior to integration. We are very excited about the opportunities that this affords hybris.”

Eclipse has been appointed as a hybris Silver partner and will focus on UK-based customers. One additional advantage to the new partnership is that Eclipse has an active customer hosting and support service, which hybris’ believes will appeal to customers who prefer a third-party to manage the systems.

Steve Carter, Managing Director, Eclipse Group, said: “Part of our business strategy is to continually look to develop new relationships with leading technology partners and hybris fits our approach perfectly. Our clients have one need in common: to invest in IT solutions which offer flexibility and add value to their businesses. As a leading and innovative player in the eCommerce market, our partnership with hybris will allow us to combine our strengths and empower our clients to make the right business decisions quickly. We are enthused and excited by the prospect of working closely with hybris and we are sure the partnership will be a great success.”

Leading Global Service Providers Identified by Independent Research Firm are hybris Partners

hybris, a leading provider of multichannel commerce and communication software, today announced that it is partnering with 11 of the 12 leading commerce service providers named in Forrester Research, Inc.’s latest Wave report on this market. Entitled “The Forrester Wave™: Global Commerce Service Providers, Q1 2012”, dated 24 February, 2012, the report follows the Company being named as a leader in “The Forrester Wave™: B2C eCommerce Platforms, Q4 2010”, dated 21 October 2010.

According to Forrester; “Today’s commerce technology projects are complex, and growing eCommerce revenues mean the bets are getting bigger …eCommerce will affect the entire business, whether that impact can be easily measured of not …. Not only does the implementation of a commerce platform and related technologies require a host of technical integrations, but these projects involve rethinking and designing a cross-touchpoint customer experience. …When multiple firms are involved to address all of these issues, companies risk missing requirements, having questions go unasked, seeing their vision and recommendations get lost in translation, and witnessing accountability go out of the window. As a result, eBusiness and technology leaders must seek services firms that can provide a wide range of capabilities...”

Frank Schoutissen, Vice President Channel at hybris, said; “Of the 12 companies identified by Forrester in its report, we are actively working with 11 of these. The purpose of this report was to evaluate these companies to help eBusiness, channel strategy and technology leaders determine the best service providers for their company to work with as they embark on programs to transform their company in the era of agile commerce.

"We believe this shows that hybris is working with the right companies across the globe to support its customers and ensure they get the best results from our multichannel commerce solutions.”

hybris develops Google Local Shopping Plug-In for Toys “R” Us

hybris, a global leader in multichannel commerce solutions, has announced the development of a new plug-in for its B2C Commerce solution, in association with the world’s leading family leisure, baby care and toy megastore, Toys “R” Us. The plug-in enables the retailer to link directly to customers searching for products through the Google Local Shopping (GLS) service with the reassurance that its product information and availability is completely up to date.

Local Shopping is a service offered by Google that is designed to bring together local stores and people who are shopping online. Retailers submit the products in their bricks and mortar stores through to Google, enabling them to reach out to customers searching for specific items, and communicating the availability and location of the product at a store close to their own location.

The hybris plug-in has been developed for Toys “R” Us (www.toysrus.co.uk) in partnership with Neoworks, hybris’ specialist ecommerce solutions partner. Neoworks has been responsible for integrating the hybris B2C Commerce platform for the retailer as part of its multichannel strategy in the UK.

Toys “R” Us delivers its stock figures directly from the mainframe each morning, and Neoworks processes these through hybris B2C Commerce in order to deliver three feeds directly to GLS. The first provides up to date details on the locations of stores in the UK, opening times, and other store information. The second confirms the product catalogue available through GLS, and the third is an update of prices and availability of products.

Will White, Head of eCommerce at Toys “R” Us, said: “The hybris plug-in allows us to maximize the Google Local Shopping service by ensuring that information available to customers is always up to date. We are particularly targeting customers who use mobiles to research and locate products, offers and availability of stock. This is an enhancement to our Click & Collect service putting our online customers in touch with our stores to locate and purchase products quickly and easily.”

hybris and Neoworks have further developed the GLS plug-in feature as a built-in function of the new version of the hybris B2C Commerce stack, which is due to be launched in December 2011.

Ariel Luedi, CEO at hybris: “The Google Local Shopping plug-in is a fantastic example of how we can maximise the combined engineering and product development expertise of our own and the Neoworks team. The feature is delivering rich data that enables Toys “R” Us to connect with a broader range of customers and attract them into stores across the UK. Our next step is to roll-out this feature across other European countries.”
